He will help you

Today I was reading the Light and the Glory when  I came to this text: "Once we lay down His Cross, our fallen nature is such that it strongly resists taking it up again."  And right then and there, I cried out to God and asked Him to help me hold up His cross.  And I encourage you to do the same thing, because He will help you so much.

Some more scripture

A few days ago was reading some of my favorite scriptures.
Here are some of them.

"Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O LORD,

And teach out of Your law," psalms 94:12

"For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.
He shall judge the world with righteousness,
And the peoples with His truth." psalm 96:13

"Blessed is the man who fears the LORD,
Who delights greatly in His commandments." psalm 112:1

"Say to God,

“How awesome are Your works!
Through the greatness of Your power
Your enemies shall submit themselves to You." psalm 66:3

"Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,

So are the children of one’s youth." psalm 127:4

 "Give us help from trouble,

For the help of man is useless.
Through God we will do valiantly,
For it is He who shall tread down our enemies." psalm 60:11-12

"For great is Your mercy toward me,

And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol." psalm 86:13

They still didn't believe

"There was a certain rich man , which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at at his gate,  full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.  And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seethe Abraham a far off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.  But Abraham said, Son remember that thou in thy lifetime receivest thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.  And beside all this between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us that would come from thence.  Then he said, I pray  thee therefore, Father, that thou wouldst send him to my father's house: for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them lest they also come into this place of torment.  Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, Father Abraham : but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rise  from the dead."  Luke 16:19-31

Jesus did raise Lazarus, the brother of Martha and Mary from the dead, they still did not believe.   Jesus Himself rose from the dead, they did not even believe then.  They were unable to say they were wrong even after all these signs.  We must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and not be so head strong like the the people of Israel, who did not even believe after people were raised from the dead.  Have faith in the Lord.

Following God

There's this post I read lately about following God and I thought it was a good topic.  We need to follow Jesus, because otherwise we are lost.  Have you ever been lost?  There's this scary feeling that comes over you and your scared that your on your way to hell, or sometimes people don't even know they're lost. That's how I was one out of the two times I was lost.   What happened was, I had something to do and while I was doing that thing, my family left me at the park (where we happened to be the sledding).  So, I came out of the warming house and I see a van pulling out that looks like our van.  So, I think that they are leaving me.  I start running as fast as I can and I'm headed for the van.  I notice that it is not Dad or Mom in the drivers seat.  So I'm wondering what's going on?  Then I see another car and it comes up to me.  I see that this one's ours'.  Well, I climb into the van and Dad tells me that they left me there, and half way home someone asks "Were is Grant," and they of course couldn't find me, and they came back to the park and there I was in the parking lot.

That's how some people are, their running after the wrong car and and they don't even notice until they finally see that the wrong drivers in the drivers seat.  A lot of times others have show them that they are follow the wrong person, that's our job as followers of Christ. Well there is one of my stories, the other one is a lot more funny and in this one I do those not very smart things.  I'll use the other story as an illustration some other time.

My new knife

A few weeks ago my dad gave me a knife!
Here are some pictures.

A serious car crash

Two of the children are discharged, along with the dad. Of the others, one had surgery to reconstruct her femur, and another had surgery on his face. The other girl was discharged, but she is vomiting and they can't figure out what is wrong, so she is back in the ER. Pray that they would be able to find the problem and do something about it. Thank you all!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A car crash happened to some people we know and I would like to ask you to pray for them.  It happened yesterday afternoon. They were driving somewhere, when the car in front of them spun out, and they hit it head on.  They had 5 of there 8 children in the car, along with the mom and dad.  All of them had an injury.  Mrs. Robbe has two broken ankles, and a collapse lung, Mr. Robbe has a broken wrist, Rachel and Caleb each have a broken collar bone, Caleb also has bad seat belt cuts.  Hanna has a broken femur, there younger daughter might have internal bleeding, and the youngest person in there family lost their front teeth (thank God he was not too young or he might have died).  That's about it, keep them in your prayers.

That family came very close to dieing.  Are you ready to die?  If you got in a car crash, and God did not spare your life, would you go to heaven?  Click Here  if you are not sure, and find out for yourself.

What are family did over the last two weeks

The reason why I have not posted very much for the last two weeks, is because our family has been extremely busy.  We've done three dance performances,  practiced for the performances at least once a day, school, had prayer time (which is something we do every night before we go to bed, it usually takes 1 to 2 hours), and since the weather has been nice, I have played outside every day (2 to 3 hours at least).  That's what our family has been doing.  What has your family been doing over St. Pat's Day? Leave a comment and tell me what you did.

We must lay down self

This is a text from the book The Light and the Glory: "We must lay down self...  Therefore, because it is not in us to help our self, let us lay all at the feet of Christ...  because Christ and self service cannot stand together, to have self in anything is to put out Christ: no man can serve two masters..." Matthew 6:24
"Thus you have seen the first means of becoming disciples, vis, self denial.  Now we come to the second; take up the cross.  You must not think to go to heaven on a feather bed;if you will be Christ's disciples, you must take up His Cross, and it will make you sweat.  By the cross, we understand troubles, because  the death of the Cross, was the bitterest and most accursed; therefore, it is put for all misery, trouble, affliction and persecution.  A man must take up his cross, because it is his own... We must not bring misery on ourselves; there is no credit or comfort in this.  The text does not say "Let him make his cross," no, it is made already.  So long as we have the world and our own corrupt hearts, and as long as there are devils in hell, there are troubles enough..."
"Shall I not drink the cup which my Father gives?  There is the force of the argument. God prepares it, therefore drink it, so the Apostle Paul reasons... God would have us live. If the patient be persuaded that the Physician has the skill, he will be willing to receive the potions prescribed to him."

Luke 9:23

"And he said to them all If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me "  Luke 9:23

......"Take up his cross daily and follow me".....  Another way to say it is, offer up (which means use them to make you focus more on God)  your sufferings (what ever your flesh doesn't want to do, that should be done) Daily (not just when you feel like it) and follow Jesus ( who had to suffer ultimately, on the cross, for our sin).  So let's try to take up our cross daily and follow our savior.

Dreaming of Summer and Watermelon

Our family loves watermelon!  We keep a chart of how many watermelons our family eats each summer.   Another thing our family enjoys is memorizing scripture, click here to enter my sister's memorization challenge.

Giveaways~

I entered this giveaway.  I encourage you to go and check it out!

Jonathan Park giveaway

Scripture

Have you ever leaned a scripture then put it into action?  I have.  It's like lighting a candle in a dark room and letting it sit out in the open.  The more scriptures you get and use, the more candles you put in this dark world of ours.  You can be a walking candle. When you share the Gospel, you're trying to light another persons candle.  So, if you have scripture that's not being used, don't keep it under a basket.  Take it out, apply it to your life, bring it into the world, and use it to light other candles.

just an update

Because I have not posted for awhile, I want to give you an update on how our family is doing:

This is our new baby.  Her name is Mirae. She was born December 19th, my birthday. She weighed nine pounds three ounces.

We also have gone to the Ellis Island and The Statue of Liberty.

Camp Barakel was another fun thing we have done since the last time I posted.
This picture is from family camp.

This is Lake Charliviox. We went here after we left Camp Barakel.

Our family has done a few performances also.

That about sums it up since my last post (except school work).
